Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it, date the fix, and list it here. This is our policy, followed by the log.
Our policy
A wrong fact on a page about paying for care can cost you money or a deadline, so we treat every error as worth fixing in the open. When we find a mistake, or you report one and we confirm it, we correct the page, add a dated note on the page saying what changed, and list the correction in the log below.
We never quietly rewrite a fact that was wrong. We do not delete corrections from this log, and no one can pay to change or remove one.
What counts as a correction
A correction is a fact we got wrong: a pay rate, a deadline, an eligibility rule, a phone number or a source that did not say what we said it did. Each one is logged here.
An update is different. When an agency changes a rule after we checked it, we change the page and its checked-on date, but our page was right on the date shown, so the change is not logged as a correction. Fixes to spelling or wording that do not change a fact are not logged either. How we verify explains the checked-on date and our 90-day checks.
How to report an error
Use the contact form. Name the page and the fact, and tell us what you believe is right. A link to the official source helps us confirm it quickly. We never publish who reported an error.
Each report is checked against the official source. If the page was wrong, we fix it and log it. If the page was right, we write back and show you the source we relied on.
The log
The log starts on the day the site launched. Every correction since then is listed here, newest first, with its date and a link to the corrected page.
